Dachshund
The Dachshund is a breed with three varities: the short-haired, the wired-haired, and the long-haired. It is a elongated and vigorous dog, with muscular short legs. It can be seen with an intelligent expression, has a convex skull and robust jaws and oval, dark red eyes. The short-haired Dachshund has a shiny and uniform coat, while the solid-colored Dachshunds is tan or yellow and the bi-color Dachshunds are brown, gray or black.
The Dachshunds are proud, bold, loving, affectionate and a curious personality. They are very clever and often try to train its owner, not the other way around. They are devoted to they families, good to travel with, get along well with older children, acting protective towards them. They can be however jealous and irritable and often act as compulsive diggers. They should not be over fed, because the breed tends to gain weight quickly.
The Dachshunds are likely to suffer from disc problems, diabetes, problems with the urinary tract or heart disease. They can become overweight if they do not get a lot of exercise. If this happens, it may also cause problems for the dog's back. With a life expectancy of 10-12 years, the dogs love to play in the park, to go for a walk, and have a surprising desire for exercise.
